About Us

How it started...

Lake Nokomis began and remains a family business. In 1973 Dave began working as a hand on the farm in beautiful Lake Nokomis, Wisconsin, located between Sugar Camp & Lake Tomahawk. After much hard work and vision, Dave purchased the farm in 1977, naming it Lake Nokomis Cranberries. When Dave began, the farm had only 50 productive acres.  Since then Dave has grown the farm to 275 producing acres and increased the quality and quantity of the berries, as well as employee living conditions at the farm by providing quality housing.

Future plans for the farm include a gift shop & winery.

This year, harvest is anticipated to begin the weekend of September 19th and run through October 9th. During this time, Lake Nokomis Cranberries is open for tours at 10 am, 12noon, 2pm & 4pm. If you are in the area, stop by for a tour! And while you are here, pick up some berries as well - our fresh cranberries sell for only $1.00/lb.

Another part of the farm is Dave's TopSoil. Dave began selling topsoil in 1977 and has become one of the largest providers of topsoil in the area. It is decomposed peaty with a neutral ph, which is rare for this area. Local people love this dirt for their gardens & landscaping projects. Contact us for more info!
